Antique Silver Threepence Coin Necklace

An incredible antique sterling silver coin necklace, constructed of 32 Queen Victoria "young head" Threepence coins, including the one at the box clasp.

This is an entirely unique piece, due to the use of circulated coins in its construction. That all of the coins are within the date-range for the younger Victoria design, and the links are soldered, indicates that this was a high-end commission piece at the time of manufacture.

This necklace is not stamped, but each of the coins are .925 sterling silver.

In really nice, vintage condition. The coins vary in exact condition, and some are more rubbed than others. The whole necklace could benefit from a clean, but we have left it in as-found condition, for the sake of the coins.

There is one coin drop missing, towards the clasp, but this could be replaced with a further Victoria Threepence.

A gorgeous, dramatic necklace, in the style of a Victorian gothic fringe choker, this would make a great addition to a numismatic or Victorian jewellery collection.
