A beautiful antique solid 9ct gold brooch in the colours of the women's suffrage movement of the early 20th Century.

The Suffragettes adopted the colours purple, white and green as a symbol of their collective struggle and unity. These colours could be worn in jewellery such as this brooch to signify their affinity for the suffrage movement.

The colours are said to stand for: white for purity, purple for loyalty or dignity, and green for hope.

The colours also reveal a hidden message: (G)reen, (W)hite, (V)iolet; Give Women Votes!

A beautiful piece of historical significance, this brooch is in exceptional antique condition.

It would make a wonderful addition to a collection, or a beautiful gold jewellery gift.

Stamped for 9ct gold to the reverse.
