A genuine antique copper coin token, with the arms of the Prince of Wales to the obverse and a mill to the reverse.

The text reads "payable at Scorrier House; one pound for 240 tokens". It is dated 1812.

In the early 19th century, faced with a national currency shortage, a mine owner, John Williams III, struck these provincial tokens using copper from his own mines as a way to pay his workers.

In good, circulated condition. There are some knocks to the edge. Please be sure to see all of the photos.

An interesting piece of history. This collectable would make a wonderful addition to a collection.
