An exceptional, unusual sterling silver coin pendant mount, housing a pair of ancient Roman coins.

The mount is engraved with a plaque identifying the Emperor Gallienus, and his wife Salonina.

I believe that both of the coins are Antoninianus (Antoniniani for the emperor's wife), and include:
- Radiate bust of Emperor Gallienus with clear lettering; Victory crowning to the reverse, with lettering "Victoria Aug". Silver billon.
- Bust of Salonina, atop a crescent moon; Venus seated to the reverse. Silver.

The coins are in good antique condition, with minimal signs of age or use. There is some splitting, and some of the finer detail is rubbed, but generally nice, clear examples.

Please see all of the photos.

The pendant mount has UK hallmarks for silver, along with a maker's mark.

The pendant is also engraved "Ellen le Gallienne" to the reverse.

A really interesting, wearable piece of ancient history. A perfect gift for the student or historian.
